Save Money On Free TV On PC

by Jed Elaine

Over the years, the TV industry has gone from strength to strength. It is now not only a favorite pastime but also a key functional communication medium in modern societies. There are now different forms of TV transmission. Conventional broadcast still heads the pack. Cable and satellite programming have proven viable but limited only to their niches. The up and coming Internet Free TV On PC is fast gaining popularity and is clearly the one for the future.

Internet TV has been around for years without much notice mainly because of technology constraints. Since Internet TV is basically TV on Computer, early-generation internet and PC limitations in speed and capacity had rendered internet TV not viable. Things are different today. The mega-bps broadband internet and mega-hertz CPUs can more than aptly support internet TV on PC. If desired, the programming can be propagated further to other AV systems. Free TV on PC is also possible from other feeds besides the internet. Computers can be enabled as TVs with the addition of a TV Tuner board or box. With that, we can watch conventional, cable or satellite TV too on our computers. An obvious benefit out of this is that not only can the computer double as a TV, it can multi-task both functions simultaneously for the user.

Internet TV programming are mainly courtesy of Free-to-Air broadcasts. There are 2 kinds. The first one is by discrete websites which are very company or product specific. As such, they are generally limited in both scope and objective. The other kind is standard TV programming. They are basically subscription TV by commercial service providers. These operators gather various FTA TV programming worldwide and provide them for access to their members over the internet through the use of their specialized software packages.

Free TV On PC is TV programming accessed over the internet through the use of computers as we would with the countless tasks that we execute day in and day out. With TV, they can be accomplished through the employment of software, hardware or combo. Of these methods, the software method is most popular for reasons of user-friendliness, low cost and being available on-the-spot.

Actually, there are now millions of TV fans in the US alone who are already enjoying Free TV On PC with many more coming on. Expectedly, there are service providers sprouting up all over the place in response to the growing demand. That's why there'll be the inevitable bunch fly-by-night operators. A savvy way to avoid being scammed is to check out the review sites for information and rating. They will get their cut but these guys put in their due diligence and will point you to the right ones.

Accessorizing Your Gifts in a Jar

by Rachel Rae

There really is no end to the ideas a person can come up with, let your creativity flow and think also about who the gift is for to really make it especially for them. Jar gifts are a wonderful, creative yet inexpensive ways to give gifts to family, friends and teachers.

You can use beautiful already decorative type jars, or simple standard canning type jars. Check the recipes first to see what sized jar they recommend for that recipe. Have several on hand if the recipe doesn't state that information and experiment to see what size the ingredients fit in. The most common sizes are the pint and quart sized jars, but baby jars are also great for smaller portion drink or spice type mix gifts.

One common way to decorate a jar is take some fabric and cut a circle, square or heart shape out of the fabric that is 6 - 8 inches across. You can use pinking shears or other decorative type scissors to edge the fabric. Lace can also be sewn as a trim to the fabric. Place the inner round section of the jar's lid on the jar and center the fabric on that. Screw the other section of the lid in place to hold the fabric. Fluff out the fabric where it comes out from under the lid.

Get creative also in the recipe instructions. Hang tags can be made either by hand, computer graphics or a label glued to the jar itself, but these can be customized to a central theme if desired. However you choose to do this, they will need the recipe?s final instructions.

There are many wonderful recipes that can be made specifically designed for jars. These include soup mixes, spice mixes, cookie and other baked goods recipes, coffee and creamer recipes and so many more. These can be quite easy to make ahead of time, so you always have a gift you can grab whenever you need one, especially great for those last minute gift needs, or for the person who seems to have everything and is difficult to buy for.

You can paint the jar before filling it. Buy paint that is specially designed for glass and follow the specific directions. Can't paint? Try finding a card or picture or something you'd like to put on the jar, and get it on paper. Place the paper inside the jar, and then simply let your painting basically be tracing the design and adding your own personal touches to it. Again, this can really be used for a theme and the jar itself will remain a keepsake long after the recipe has been used.

Layer the ingredients for a beautiful presentation. Put at the bottom layers the softest ingredients, like flour but be sure to mix in the baking sodas, salt, etc that's called for in the recipes. If the flour dusts the rest of the jar, let it settle then carefully wipe the jar with a paper towel before adding the rest of the ingredients. Brown sugar can be packed down to save a bit of space.

You can accessorize your jar gifts by either gluing dried flowers, pinecones or whatever to the top of the jars as well. Or tie small items with ribbon or raffia to the jars. Common items that work well are measuring spoons, tiny whisks, cookie cutter, little garden tools, cinnamon bark, vanilla beans or any other small whimsical item you may find.

There are many amazing ribbons out there plus many different types of ways that bows can be tied to give unique looks. Lace can also be hot glued around the rim of the jar.

For a Victorian themed jar try a luscious tea mix or scone or other bakery recipe, gluing some lace around the rim of the jar, some small dried flowers on top or a tassel. Create a label or hang tag that looks like tea stained paper. For a western theme, try perhaps a bean soup recipe, wrap your jar in a bandanna, or use the bandanna itself as tied around the lid. Perhaps you can find a cowboy boot or hat graphic to decoupage on the jar itself, or paint one on.

What about the tea lover you know? Try some small baby jars filled with different flavored teas, cocoas and coffee mixes and put in a basket with a coffee mug and muffin or scone. Paint the jar lids coordinating colors to match the mug. Perhaps adding some gourmet tea bags and cinnamon sticks would be a nice touch as well. Let your creativity guide your senses.

Let your thoughts flow, there really is no telling what you can come up with for a beautiful gift to someone you care about that communicates that you really put forth some heart into this.

An Introduction to Home Energy Systems

by Daniel Shermann

When you hear about home energy systems, it is primarily associated with the energy from the sun. The most common residential energy system is the conversion of solar energy into electricity for home use. There are two main types of solar energy, light and thermal. Light energy, from the sun, is harnessed by a collecting medium then transformed into electricity. Thermal energy, which is derived from the heat of the sun, is used to directly warm household water and swimming pools.

A typical home energy system has four components:

1. Photovoltaic Cells - Photovoltaic or solar cells made of a semiconductor material in which sunlight is converted into electricity through excitation of electrons. These cells require protection from various environmental and mechanical elements; thus, they are encased in photovoltaic modules or panels. These modules come in different sizes, weights, and shapes.

2. The Inverter - An inverter transforms direct current into alternative current electricity.

3. Mounting - A sturdy mounting system is imperative to secure your home energy systems atop a variety of surfaces from tiled roofs to the shiny exterior of a yacht.

4. Storage - Batteries are optional as they served as storage for electricity produced.

Solar energy also make use of semiconductor materials. The commonly used semiconductor materials in the manufacture of solar cells are:

1. Silicon - Mono-crystalline silicon is made by the use of a crystal microtome that thinly slices the material into 150 - 350 microns thickness.

2. Multi-Crystalline Silicon - Multi-crystalline silicon is made by sawing into a block of silicon.

3. An Amorphous Silicon - Amorphous silicon is produced when a thin layer of the material is placed on a substrate to make a photovoltaic module.

4. Thin film has a width of 1/10 micron, the flimsiest material to be used in solar cells.

The advantages and benefits of home energy systems are definitely extensive. Among such perks are the following:

1. Relatively fast turnabout of capital investment considering that solar power companies offer a minimum of a 20-year warranty and solar units can last a lifetime with proper use and care.

2. Because you are self-sufficient in terms of electricity, you are no longer influenced by price hikes of electrical providers. You now have full reigns on the amount of electricity you can generate with your home energy system.

3. You don't have to pay for taxes. There are no taxes yet levied by the government when you harness solar radiation. You are entitled to as much sunlight as your system can get.

4. With minimum movable parts, home energy systems have low maintenance costs compared to electrical connections with their many wirings and cables.

5. It is encouraged by the government. Many governments actually offer incentives for people to switch to home energy systems as part of their environmentalist movement.

6. It is environment-friendly. Unlike renewable energy, solar power does not emit polluting emissions and harmful greenhouse gases such as carbon and methane. Accidental dredging and spillage seen in fossil fuel production is also not possible with solar power.

7. With home energy, there are no dangerous ecological by-products made during solar power production.

8. It is an actual way of helping the environment. You set a good example for your neighbors to hopefully emulate. When you use solar power energy, you actually help conserve other depleting natural energy sources like petroleum and coal for future generation use.
