Buying A Childrens Timber Playhouse

by Spencer Wilkins

As all parents will tell you children love the chance of having playhouses. Today you have the choice of either going for a prefabricated style of playhouse or you can go for one, which is actually custom made. But whichever style of playhouse you choose for your child you will soon see just how much fun they have with it.

When you are actually looking to buy a wooden playhouse there are several places where you can look for what it is that you want. Firstly you can visit your local garden center or DIY store to see what styles they have available. Most of which come in a prefabricated form so all one needs to do is follow the instructions provided in order to assemble them. The other place to search for good quality prefabricated and custom made playhouses is by going online.

When looking to buy a playhouse for your child there are certain things that need to be taken into consideration and below we take a look at just what these are. One of the first things you need to think about is where in your garden it is going to be located.

Ideally, it should be located in a position where the children can easily gain access to it. Plus if it is going to be used by very small (young) children then place it in a position where you have uninterrupted views of it from your home. Also if you can place it in a position where it gets lots of natural light as this means you will not need to have to spend more money running electricity to it.

If you are going to have a custom made playhouse rather than a prefabricated one built in your garden check with the local authority to see if you need any kind of building permit. In most cases because these types of structures are less than 100 foot square they do not actually need any building permits but those that are over this size may.

Ideally the playhouse you choose should be one that is big enough to meet your child's needs initially and as they grow up. Getting a custom built one will ensure that you get one that will meet all these and more.

Once you know what size playhouse it is you want you next need to decide on what style. Ideally throughout the process of choosing the playhouse it is a good idea to get your child involved especially when it comes to the style. As you and they will soon discover there are numerous different ones to choose from. They could go for something really simple that resembles a log cabin or they may choose something a little more elaborate and expensive such as one that looks similar to a pirate ship.

So be warned because there are so many different styles of playhouses to choose from actually deciding which is best may take longer than you would have first expected. If you keep in mind what we have mentioned above then you will be able to find one that not only your child likes but meets your budgetary requirements also.
